md physicians understand how important it to ensure the accuracy and validity of medical information on the Internet. Physicians can request verification to provide added assurance to their patients that they are licensed physicians. MaxMD verifies the physician using their D.E.A. number and provides them with a verification badge to place on their website. By clicking on this icon patients are able to check the status of a particular physician.
To enroll in the physician verification program you must own a
md domain name and be able to provide a D.E.A. number. There are two ways to request enrollment into the program:
Register your
md name - during the registration process physicians are prompted to enter their D.E.A. number and may check the box "request physician verification." Selecting this option will alert the system to begin the verification process.
Access your
md Account - if you have already registered your
md domain you can request verification from your
md account by following these steps:

- Log into your account and select "Manage My Domains".
- Select the domain name that you wish to manage and choose the "physician verification" option from the pull down menu.
- Hit "Submit."
- You will be redirected to a secondary page where you are required to enter your D.E.A. number. This will alert the system to begin the verification process.
Once verified, MaxMD will provide you with the verification badge to place on your website. Patients will be able to click on the badge to verify your status. If you need assistance, please contact a MaxMD support specialist at (877) 629.6363 or send an email for support.
The D.E.A. number that you entered did not match the database on file. Please log into your
md account and verify that your D.E.A. number was entered correctly. If it was entered incorrectly, make the appropriate changes and resubmit your request. The verification process will take an additional week to complete.

Verification requests take approximately one week to complete. While the verification is under review, your status will be listed as pending. As soon as verification has been approved, the status will change to verified.
